• Mystic Indexed Reader Issue

From bithaven@21:1/172 to All on Sun Apr 19 07:52:35 2026
    Hi everyone,

There's a small issue that's happening constantly and I wonder if it's a known issue, or if it's something to do with my setup.

When connecting to my favorite board and reading through a list of messages using Mystic's "Indexed Reader" (if that is the correct term), pressing ESCAPE to go back to the list of channels/echoes doesn't bring me back to the
original location; I'm placed a couple of pages down, onto some random echo. Has anyone experienced this?

I'm using Netrunner 2.00 BETA 21 (the latest one, I think), and the behavior is the same whether my screen size is 80x25 or 132x37, which I thought at first might be the culprit.

    Any ideas?

Ok, it might just be that it's jumping back to the next group with unread messages. Now to see if it's a behavior I can tweak.

As always, I've spoken too quickly. :)

I was going to reply with something in those lines. I suppose it would all depend on how you have the message index setup.

No worries. A good place to start/look at would be in your themes directory (ie. mystic/themes/default/text unless you've made a custom theme), called msg_index.ini. Has all the settings you can modify. In your case, it might have something to do with the "snap_new" keyword if you want it to go to the next base with new messages when you exit the reader.

    Hope that helps!

    Regards,
    Nick

Ah! But I'm not the SysOp, just a regular user. Does this mean I'm screwed? :) I've looked through the (limited) user options exposed and could not find anything relevant. I might have to bug the SysOop then...
