Just wear closed-toe shoes so you don't get punctured by the discarded
heroin syringes laying all over, and watch out for piles of human poop
on the sidewalks. Definitely don't wander into one of the "tent
cities", as that could get ugly. Also bring a bottle of hand sanitizer liquid, and a set of brass knuckles isn't a bad idea.

As you often do, you're replying to me, but you snipped out *ALL* of
what I said, leaving no context.

Not sure what your reddit extract is supposed to show... basically it
says "you should be safe, as long as you're with somebody else".

Is that good enough? Would you walk there with your wife, or your
    daughter?

Have you been to downtown Seattle recently? I have, and my comments
(that you conveniently snipped out) are spot on accurate.

Maybe you and your family should pay a visit and walk around there at
    night.

I was there a few years ago for a concert and felt perfectly safe. We
walked quite a lot back to our hotel, a couple of miles and stopped on
a few bars along the way. Had no trouble.

A lot of people say to avoid 3rd Ave, especially between Pike and Pine,
and use 1st or 4th instead. 2nd has bars and restaurants if you want to
    stop.

I am planning to see the band Rush in October there.
Although Seattle is known to be colorful and crazy like Portland, I hope it ends up better than Los Angeles.

Enjoy. There's plenty to do there. The Space Needle, obviously, and there's a Museaum of Pop Culture that's worth a visit, and the Chihuly Garden and Glass which is quite impressive.

Los Angeles was OK but tons of graffiti which makes the place look a bit of an eyesore, and you see tents everywhere coming out of the airport, a reminder that some are not as fortunate.

I saw in another of your posts that this was "a few years ago". Things
have changed. My question above said "recently"... Go there again now

That's not bad. I could drive there in about 4 to 6 hours from where I live, though I'm not sure if I'd want to make that drive or if I'd want to fly there and take an Uber to the concert and avoid parking altogether (either way, I'd probably get a hotel room and stay overnight at least one night).
