The Bayou Waits

With amazing patience, the bayou sits like the gator studying his domain searching for a meal. The sounds of the world waking play like a symphony, the bayou and the gator both quietly observing as the chaos erupts around them. Squirrels forage along the shore, gathering chanterelles and blewitts for addition to their stores, while a Cooper's Hawk soars above in search of an unwary meal.
With cinnamon, clove, vanilla, and nutmeg added to the grounds in the basket, I enjoy a mug of Snickerdoodle Coffee on the stoop as Shipyard and Refinery workers travel to the jobsites for a bit of overtime. A siren rings out as the Firefighters conduct a morning drill, highway travelers obeying the emergency signals as they should.
Tippy and Wapiti have rousted my bride, as they head down the road for their morning walk. The sound of a truck unloading can be heard from the Dollar General. I return inside as the sky begins to darken before the coming rain.
Patience . Time . WeatherComments
